Description
This is really cracking, with great finesse and precision, married to satisfying richness and weight of texture. It has intense black cherry and morello cherry fruit, with a suggestion of attractive leafy character that gives extra complexity. The tannin is beautifully textured and contributes to the wine's body if enjoyed now, while providing the potential to cellar a few years if desired. It is ripe, spicy, fresh, balanced and long, and offers extraordinary value for money. Unlike many Rosso di Montepulciano wines, this is not simply Vino Nobile that didn't make the grade. Instead, Poliziano deliberately selected vineyards best-suited to producing juicy, sumptuous, rich wine, capable of providing immediate enjoyment. Made from Sangiovese grapes (80%), combined with 20% Merlot.
