Description
This is a fabulous Meursault which is drinking beautifully right now. It has delectable balance between lime-like brightness, and riper, peachier notes, all surrounded by an irresistible, mouthfilling, caramelised oak character. With fantastic richness of texture and length on the palate, this is a superb wine. Les Narvaux is a highly-regarded vineyard site, on the hillside above the Porusot and Genevrières Premier Crus. Its well-drained, south-easterly slope leads to concentrated wine, balanced by freshness from its higher altitude (between 290 and 330 metres). Fermentation takes place in small (228 litre) oak barrels, of which 15% are first-fill, and the wine is aged on fine lees without bâtonnage for 18 months before assembly in 'cuve' one month prior to bottling.
