Description
Cuvée Palomar signifies a return to the region's traditional varietal composition. There is less Tempranillo than is the norm in more modern blends, and Garnacha and Graciano play a prominent role, comprising 43% of the total. There is also a surprise 4% of Malbec, harking back to French influence on northern Spain's viticulture in the late 19th Century. This elegant wine evokes more red-fruited character (raspberry and wild strawberry) than Selección Especial, with complex nuances of liquorice, vanilla and fine patisserie. 2019 is a celebrated vintage, of warm conditions and an exceptionally healthy crop - Cuvée Palomar will drink well for at least another five years.
